The Kevin Costner Suicide Pact, a Denver based ambient-drone band, explores the realms of the locally unknown and the cosmic familiar. This entrance into sound is far from entry level. “End Weekend”, their self released first album, stems from obsessions with blindfolded exploration into the auditory out-lands and inner workings of the self. Focused on delay and loop, layers upon layers of mind and face melting ohms coalesce to create songs that are both pensive and impulsive.
The core of the Kevin Costner Suicide Pact consists of members from sister band, Fellow Citizens, a Denver based post-rock collective. Born as a two piece, KCSP’s ever-evolving musical exploration is synonymous with their dynamic member base. With their ability to pull from an array of creative outlets–from band members to equipment, KCSP’s music is a mosaic of collaborative effort, colored and pieced together with intention, wisdom, and the unknown.
“It was like seeing a live performance of Flying Saucer Attack’s album Further, or Windy & Carlos, or even Jessamine. The evolving tapestry of sound was rich, and at one point, the sheer physicality of sound was reminiscent of songs from that second Sigur Ros album — a dense yet effervescent wall of noise that enters your brain and cleanses the synapses of mundane inclinations.” – Westword
